About Hummingbird Wealth Management

Many people believe that their financial well-being is linked solely to their ability to earn a high income. True financial independence, however, has much more to do with understanding and taking advantage of the finances you have. It's more about setting financial goals and learning to use strategies that will help you meet your objectives.
Our goal is to help you plan for financial security. Whether your goals involve building wealth through investing, funding a child's college education, planning for a comfortable retirement, or protecting your estate, we can help you develop a road-map to reach your goals and make wise decisions to help improve your financial situation.

About The Founder

Laura E.C. Johnson, CFP®, CDFA™
After 27 years of working with a local community bank, I created Hummingbird Wealth Management. I created Hummingbird Wealth Management as a practice for clients and advisors that are seeking a firm that genuinely cares about them. I enjoy helping, educating, and supporting my clients through many of life's challenges and transitions.
Over the years I have been able to assist many clients with the many transitions that life hands them - marriage, birth, college, death, and divorce. I am very patient and thorough with my clients, ensuring that no stone is unturned. I take pride in ensuring my clients are comfortable and regardless of their transition, can move on without concerns of their financial well-being.
I live with my husband and 3 boys on a small farm in Libertytown, MD and in our spare time enjoy camping, boating, kayaking, and many other outdoor activities.
Why hire a CFP®?
Laura obtained her CFP® designation in 2006. She obtained her certification after receiving her Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University.
Working with a CFP® professional is an important first step toward reaching your financial goals. Not only do these advisors meet rigorous education and experience requirements, but they are also held to the highest ethical and professional standards in the industry.
Education
CFP® professionals must master nearly 100 integrated financial planning topics. In addition to completing a comprehensive financial planning curriculum approved by the CFP Board CFP® professionals are required to complete continuing education coursework, including a CFP Board-approved code of ethics course, to ensure their competence in financial planning.
Ethics
As a final step to certification, CFP® practitioners agree to abide by a strict code of professional conduct, known as CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, that sets forth their ethical responsibilities to the public, clients, and employers. CFP Board also performs a background check during this process, and each individual must disclose any investigations or legal proceedings related to their professional or business conduct.
